Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: An Experiential Approach to Behavior Change PDF Print E-mail

This is the first and most important book length treatment of ACT. As the core ACT text, it is the must have if you are learning ACT. It can be a bit technical at times, so Learning ACT can be helpful to bridge some of the gap between technical and nontechnical language.

Learning ACT: An Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Skills Training Book for Therapists PDF Print E-mail

Learning ACT is a skills-training workbook for therapists wanting to learn ACT. It has lots of exercises and is the text that this web site was built to support.  It makes a great companion text for the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy book.
Relational Frame Theory PDF Print E-mail

Relational Frame Theory thoroughly lays out the theory of Relational Frame Theory, the basic behavior analytic account of language and cognition that underlies ACT.  As a way to learn the detail of this theory, this book can't be beat. But be warned, this is a hard read. Only for those truly dedicated to understanding ACT at a deep level. This book is worth reading after you've read several other ACT texts or are a researcher.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy for Anxiety Disorders PDF Print E-mail

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Anxiety Disorders is one of the most accessible books on ACT and shows some of the practical and theoretical developments that have occurred since the first book was written. This is a very important core ACT text and shows many good examples of ways to integrate values and acceptance/defusion in practice. It's applicable beyond anxiety even though that's its focus.
